Remote Guest Information
Remote Guest Overview
Most guests appear remotely on AREA 52 TV. If you are joining via VMIX-CALL (video or phone), you will typically receive an email from the show producer to schedule a brief 10-minute setup check prior to the broadcast.
Broadcast Information
- The majority of shows are conducted via VMIX-CALL, utilizing both audio and video.
- All programs are recorded live in front of a webcast audience of several thousand viewers at AREA 52 TV.
- Your full conversation—from greeting to sign-off—will be broadcast live.
- Editing is minimal; most of what you say will appear in the final version, which is typically released within 1–2 days.
- While not governed by FCC regulations, we maintain family-friendly content standards and request that all guests use appropriate language and topics.
- Please do not watch the live stream while participating. The delay and bandwidth usage can negatively affect your audio/video quality.
Show Topics
- Many shows provide topic outlines in advance, which will be shared by the producer.
- Final topic adjustments may occur shortly before airtime.
- Guests are welcome to suggest additional topics through the provided link.
Process Overview
- A producer will contact you to test your connection.
- You will join the show at your scheduled time.
Technical Setup
You do not need professional-grade equipment; however, the following setup is strongly recommended for optimal performance:
Audio Requirements
- Use a direct-connect headset whenever possible.
- Avoid using your computer’s built-in microphone unless absolutely necessary.
- If using a built-in mic, plug in headphones to prevent audio echo.
- Never play show audio through speakers, as this creates echo and disrupts the broadcast.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure headset cables are secure to avoid feedback noise.
- Plug devices directly into USB ports (avoid USB hubs).
- Minimize background noise—close doors and notify others to avoid interruptions.
Internet Connection
- Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi whenever possible for stability.
- If on a shared network, ask others not to stream the show during your appearance to preserve bandwidth.
- Unstable connections may disrupt the live broadcast and increase post-production editing.
Video Setup
Camera Options:
- Built-in webcams are acceptable.
- External webcams (e.g., Logitech C920) offer improved quality.
Lighting:
- Ensure your face is well-lit from the front.
- Avoid backlighting unless balanced with strong front lighting.
- Consider using LED ring lights or daylight-balanced bulbs for better image quality.
Framing:
- Position your head near the top of the frame.
- Keep your upper torso visible for on-screen graphics.
- Place the camera at eye level, centered—avoid angled or side views.
Best Practices:
- Enable video before the session begins.
- Do not watch the live stream during your appearance; a return feed will be provided.
Final Notes
- Feel free to invite others to watch the show at AREA 52 TV.
